Chopta is one of the lovely spots in Uttrakhand, home to the ancient temple and an exciting hike. Adventure and nature fans and Hindu worshippers cannot miss this place. Chopta is located at a height of 2900 m in the Uttarakhand district of Rudraprayag, a lush green valley with a splendid outlook over the Himalayan peaks. But the fact that it is the basis of the famous and sacred temple of Tungnath, which is the highest Shiva Temple in India, is making Chopta a popular tourist destination in Uttaranchal. 

Chopta is also part of the Kedarnath Wildlife sanctuary and provides trekkers with a wonderful chance to scale up to 4000 m, where the 360° vista of snow-capped Himalayan summits like Nanda Deví, Chaukhamba, and Trishul can be found. Located at a height of 36800 m, Tungnath is the location of the world’s highest Shiva Temple. It is a magnificent ascent from Uttarakhand’s Chopta; with a unique vista of the Himalayan.
