You are standing in the centre of Dubai: a warm wind blowing from the Rub al-Khali desert blows in your face, skyscrapers hang from all sides, behind which you cannot see the clouds, somewhere there are sandy beaches and waves of the Persian Gulf, viewing platforms where you can feel yourself on top of the world, shopping centres selling anything you want, parks with marvellous flowers and zoos with exotic animals.

Where to go, what to see and where to look for it? We will tell you where to go for a walk in Dubai not to miss anything interesting.

Downtown or Downtown Dubai

All the tallest skyscrapers and famous hotels and restaurants are located in the centre of Dubai. It is also called Downtown Dubai. Here you will see the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower. Climb the observation deck on the 148th floor, have a coffee in the atmosphere on the 123rd floor, go shopping at the Dubai Mall, and end the day with a spectacular musical fountain show.

Most city sightseeing tours occur in the Downtown area, so choose any and let your acquaintance with the city be unforgettable.

Burj Khalifa, Observation Deck and At.mosphere Restaurant

The height of the tower is 828 meters, and so far, it is the tallest building in the world. Residents of the emirates do not want anyone to break this record, so they decided to break it themselves, and in the neighbouring area, they are building the tallest building in the world in the future.

You can look at the Burj Khalifa from the side or go up to the observation deck, located on the 148th floor. From there you can see the whole city, the Persian Gulf and the desert. By the way, the desert safari is another must-see point of your trip to Dubai.

A visit to the observation deck costs between $ 40 and $ 100.*

You can climb the tower on your own by purchasing a ticket online or at the box office in advance, but then you will have to stand in line. Or you can join an excursion that includes climbing the tower. Then the guide will tell you more about everything that you see from above.

Another exquisite option for enjoying the scenery is to go to the Atmosphere restaurant, which is located on the 123rd floor of the tower. Through the panoramic windows, you can see the city, which is especially beautiful at night. If you want to collect the whole kaleidoscope of impressions, go up to the observation deck at sunset, at the same time watch the fountain show, which is held at the foot of the tower every day from 18.00 to 23.00, and then go down to the restaurant, order drinks and admire the lights of the night city.

Dubai Mall

One of the largest shopping malls in the world is located a stone’s throw from Burj Khalifa. So people come here not only and not so much for shopping, but also for impressions.

Dubai Mall consists of:

  • 1200 shops, a wide selection of luxury brands.
  • a legendary fountain decorated with sculptures of pearl divers.
  • many original installations.
  • a multi-tiered aquarium with rare fish.
  • an Olympic-sized ice rink.
  • dozens of attractions for adults and children.
  • Children’s entertainment centres where you can leave your child in the care of experienced teachers while you go shopping, beauty salons, a spacious food court with cuisines from all over the world, and that’s not all.

It is difficult to get out of here without a dozen packages and bags of shopping and souvenirs, but even if you do not like shopping, peek to understand how an ideal shopping centre works from the point of view of a resident of the United Arab Emirates.

Getting around in the UAE is relatively easy. You have multiple options to choose from, such as:

  • Car & van rental companies.
  • Taxies.
  • Uber.
  • Metro.

However, if you own a car, ensure that the vehicle is equipped with the corresponding tyres. For example, suppose you own an SUV; bonus points for you if your tyres fall under the list of “best tyres for large SUV“.

Dubai Aquarium

Without leaving the Dubai Mall, you can visit another popular attraction – the Dubai Aquarium. There are 33,000 fish and other marine life in the pool as high as a three-story building. The main attraction is the tunnel, where schools of fish and even sharks gracefully swim over your head. For a fee, you can rent a wetsuit and swim with sharks. And if you don’t feel like getting into the water, take a swim in a unique boat with a transparent bottom, looking at the aquarium inhabitants.

Tickets to the aquarium start at $ 30 and can be purchased at the box office or purchased online in advance.
